10. Star-Spangled Banner Jump5 is back with Hello & Goodbye, their best album in 4 years!
Shoot The Moon and Fly are the first songs on the album and the songs a lot of people have already heard. Both are very catchy songs that start the album off great with good vocals and a little not so good vocals but overall very good songs.
Never Enough is the first song that shows off their maturity on this album. It is a slow song with beautiful vocals and lyrics with a lot of meaning.
Hello Goodbye is a great cover of The Beatles classic song and features former member Libby Hodges who left in 2004 to go back to school and live a normal life. This song brings back good memories of the early Jump5 days when I started to like them. The only bad thing to say about it is the applauding and screaming at the end. Other than that, it's great!
The next song is their take on the classic worship song I Surrender All which has also been released to radio. Instead of making it their own, they kept the original lyrics and music which made it very nice and something different from probably anything they have ever done before. If I was to pick one song to show they have matured, it would be this one.
Still Got Me is another very good catchy song. It has a minor touch of an 80s sound, but is very Jump5 and will not disappoint you.
Throw Your Hands Up (Slap Happy Symphonic Unmix) is a new version of their song from the album "All The Time In The World." I was not sure how I was going to feel about it at first but they really surprised me with a great acoustic sound that also shows maturity.
It would not be a Jump5 album without a remix. Fly (Erickson Remix) delivers just that and is actually one of the better remixes in Jump5 history. Some of the elements might annoy some people, but some of the elements were actually good improvements on the original song.
You is also a catchy song and very Jump5. Over time, I think this will become one of my favorites on this CD and probably one of my favorite Jump5 songs ever.
Star Spangled Banner appeared on their MySpace page for Independence Day. It is very nice vocally and any American would say they did it well. The only bad thing about it was that it does not fit in with the rest of the album.
In 2001, Jump5 said hello and jumped on the scene and into our hearts with their catchy songs and amazing choreography. In 2007, they say goodbye with an album and tour showing you that they still got it and they are going out with a bang. I have been a Jump5 fan since the very first time I heard one of their songs on Radio Disney. Way before insiderevolution.net, there was Glimpse Of Eternity, my Jump5 fansite. I enjoyed working on it for several years before I decided to close it and open anth-net.com and then this site. I owe them a lot of thanks for introducing me to Christian music. Without them, this website would have never happened and I am not sure what my life would be like. Thank you.
Overall, I love this CD and would recommend it to any pop music fan. If you were a Jump5 fan like me, give them another try. You might be surprised that you still enjoy listening to them.
