10. If You're Wondering Eisley releases their new album Combinations featuring a variety of styles worthy of the title.
Many Funerals is the first song and the darkest song on the album. Even though it could be a little depressing, it is a good track that adds to the variety of the album.
The first single off this album was Invasion. I am sure a lot of you have already heard it. It is a very interesting song inspired by the Sci-fi novel "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" by Jack Finney. I took the time to read the book myself just to see what inspired the song. The song covered the book very well. It is a great song that met my every expection with a brand new Eisley song.
Taking Control is one of the better songs on the album. I really like every aspect of this song - the vocals, lyrics, and music. I think it could be one of the songs that I would release to radio.
Go Away is a sweet song with soft vocals that lead to a great chorus. It is another good song.
I really like I Could Be There For You. It still has the jungle-like vibe like it did when Eisley first started performing it on their Final Noise tour but not so much that it takes away from the song. It is also one of the first songs of the album that Chauntelle actually sings on which was a nice surprise.
Come Clean is a cool, relaxing song. It ends with every member of the band, include Chauntelle, Weston, and Garron, joining together for the last few lines.
Ten Cent Blues has a country sound to it. But, once again, not so much that it takes away from the song. It is just another good song that adds to the variety of the album.
A Sight To Behold is becoming one of my favorite songs of the album. The music is just awesome and the lyrics are great, but the vocals are amazing.
The title track Combinations is actually a slow love song which is not something you heard on their debut album. But it is a good song with an a variety of instruments that make the music pretty impressive.
If You're Wondering is the last song on the album. The music for this song reminds me of something you would hear from a little musicbox, but it fits really well on this song and album, but I probably would not have put it as the last song. But it is still very impressive how they used it.
Over, the album is excellent. Some fans who really liked the "fairytale" lyrics of their first album may be a little dissappointed with this album at first. I would agree with you, but a member of their forums said this, "To me, it's viewing reality through eyes who prefer the mystical and innocent. It's almost like things are too harsh, yet you still find beauty and joy in it." What that person said, changed what I thought about the album. Right now, I have listened to the album 25 times. That should tell you that it is good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and out of the ordinary music you hear daily.
